Te Reo Maori moment

 On Ratu / Tuesday 14th of Mahuru at 12pm our akomanga took part in the national  reo Maori Moment. We went and joined Tangaroa in our Papa Whakaari and called out "Kia kaha te reo Maori, korero Maori"

Te reo is important because it is our language!

Photograph Challenge

I was on the ipad with Pippin today. I like the Photograph Challenge it's awesome. I used PicCollage we went around taking  photos of letters of our names. Me and Pippin went outside and took lots of photos.

This term we have been learning about Space. On Monday Anne Marie came to talk to us about space.We learnt about how astronauts eat in space. We made a flip book about the phases of the moon. We also made a straw rocket.  

I really enjoyed wearing the space suits.

I thought the videos were amazing because I liked seeing planet earth from space.  I liked seeing the water floating in the spaceship, it floats like a bubble.

Nga Ahurea O te Ao

 We have been learning about different ahurea (cultures) around the world. I worked in a ropu to research Maori culture. We discussed traditional kai ,kahahu, kemu ,whakahari, Maoritanga, waiata, taonga puoro and Atua.

Maori are the indigenous people of Aotearoa.

Here are some of the traditional things;

Mothers day creation?

 Today we made a Mothers Day card. First we researched quotes and poems about Mothers Day in Maori and English.After deciding which one to use we copied it into our pukapuka. I chose this one to use. We copied it into our pukapuka. Then onto our card. Next we found on origami flower tutorial on  You Tube and created a flower for the card.Finally it was finished.
